Burlington Public School Guidance Program

The Guidance Program provides supportive services to all students.  The Guidance Counselor works cooperatively with parents, teachers, administrators and other specialists to provide support for students.  Guidance Counselors provide direct services to students within the classroom as well as within the guidance office.  The direct services may involve individual/ group counseling on a weekly, short term or crisis intervention basis.  Guidance Counselors also provide ongoing consultation in assessing a student’s needs and planning an appropriate course of action.  Counselors provide ongoing consultation with staff to coordinate services provided to students.   Counselors also provide consultation on an “as needed” basis and may observe students to provide information regarding the student.  Parents are encouraged to discuss concerns with the Counselor.
