The Burlington Public Schools’ Early Childhood Team conducts screenings and evaluations of 3 and 4 year-old children to assess developmental needs and respond to parent, teacher’s or physician concerns.
In order to ensure the accessibility of this service, our team schedules ongoing screening appointments throughout the school year. Parents can contact Louise D’Amato, Director of the Integrated Preschool, to discuss concerns and set up individual screening appointments for their child. This approach affords parents great flexibility and convenience in scheduling, and it also allows the screening process to be more individualized, “family friendly” and developmentally appropriate.
We need the help as early childhood professionals to publicize this free service to families.
