OUR GOAL

To provide all children with opportunities to grow and learn to their fullest potential. Length of school day and the number of days per week that children attend is determined by the needs of children in a given classroom, ranging from 3 to 6 hours per day, and from 3 to 5 days per week. Typically developing children attend 3 mornings or afternoons per week. The program utilizes a developmental approach to address student needs in all areas: language, play, motor skills, scialization, congnition, and selfhelp.
This approach presumes a knowledge of developmental stages and sequences, an ongoing commitment to individual differents, and an understanding that young children learn best when their learning is active and based on first hand, every day experiences. Teachers employ a variety of instructional strategies such as incidental teaching, activity-based instruction, and discerte trial training to accommodate students' individual learning styles. Priniciples of Applied Behavioral anaylsis guide the management of student behavior. Parent training, home visiting, occupational, physical, speech and language therapies are avaliable. For more information, contact Sanda Goldstein, Early Childhood Coordinator.
