Planning Process and Overall Timeline

• Summer 2005: Consulting firm hired
• Summer 2005: Consulting study, gather public input, generate exhaustive list of options
• September 2005: Preliminary presentation of study findings to Town Meeting
• Fall and Winter 2005/2006: Gather more public input, narrow down list of options, gather preliminary cost approximations
• February 2006: Committee recommendation to School Committee
• February and March 2006: School Committee public deliberations and proposal selection
• March or April 2006: final recommendation for Warrant to Town Meeting
• May 2006: Town Meeting vote on recommendation

• July 2005: Consulting firm presented preliminary assessment of current facilities; questions and input from the public
• August 2005: Consulting firm presented demographic projections and exhaustive list of possible options; questions and input from the public
• September 2005: Summary of facilities assessment, demographic information, and possible options presented to Town Meeting
• November 2005: Lengthy discussion with the public about various options on the list prepared by the consulting firm; a lot of good input was gathered

• April 2006: Final proposal selected by the School Committee, for presentation to Town Meeting
